Curbside Tote/Bin Sizes

Only curbside collection totes or bins provided by the CVRD are accepted in the program. Each tote is the property of the CVRD, comes with a geotagged ID tag, and must stay at its designated address.

Standard tote/bin sizes include:

  • 132L green tote for organics (combined food and yard waste)
  • 132L black tote for garbage 
  • 240L blue tote for recyclables (paper items and plastic/metal containers)
  • 27L yellow bin for glass bottles and jars 

The standard tote sets are suitable for most households, as the 132L totes hold roughly the same amount as two regular-sized garbage cans.
