Top level competitive swimming and diving meets can be hosted with ease in the aquatic centres in Ladysmith and Duncan. Before the laps begin, competitors will appreciate the gym and training areas in these modern facilities.
The Frank Jameson Community Centre in Ladysmith features an aquatic centre, with a four-lane, 25-metre Olympic short course pool, aquatic lifts and stairs for accessibility, a climbing wall, slides, rope swing and basketball hoops. The centre offers a well-equipped fitness centre with cardio, strength and free-weight training equipment, as well as a gymnasium, youth centre, and two meeting spaces. The region’s flagship facility, in Duncan, is a fully accessible, multi-featured aquatic venue with full size pools, steam room, sauna and swirl pool. There are fitness classes, a full fitness centre, meeting spaces, and facilities to host events. Activities take place in the 25-metre competitive pool, and 25-metre wide wave pool (warm-up pool). There are one and three-metre diving boards, a 12ft depth, lazy river, twin waterslides, swirl pool, sauna and steam rooms. Change rooms have private and communal showers.
