CVRD Water Use Restrictions – Stage 1

CVRD Water Use Restrictions start at Stage 1 on May 1.

Check the Water Use Restrictions table to prepare gardens, lawns, and other areas that require water use.

Watering in the evening, nighttime, or early morning helps reduce water loss from evaporation and spreads water use more evenly to lower peak demand.

Learn how to use water efficiently and what Stage 1 water use restrictions mean for you and your water system. Visit the Map!

Discover The Regional District

The Cowichan Valley Regional District provides a wide range of services to residents. While a few are mandated by the Province (e.g., solid waste, emergency planning, land use planning), most are determined by the CVRD Board. However, services can only be delivered with approval from the electors who will receive them. The CVRD is governed by a 16-member board made up of appointed directors from four municipalities—Lake Cowichan, Ladysmith, Duncan, and North Cowichan (which has four appointees based on population)—and one elected director from each of the nine electoral areas.
