The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) helps fund initiatives and projects that foster community engagement and collaboration, empowering individuals and organizations to drive positive change in the region.
On February 25, 2026, the CVRD Board approved the Financial Contributions to Community Organizations Policy. This policy establishes a framework for analyzing financial contributions to community organizations of $5,000 or more, outlining a reporting structure and requirements to ensure accountability and prudent stewardship of public funds. Each year, the CVRD administers Electoral Grants to support events and initiatives, and Functional Grants as annual contributions to select groups serving the region. View the 2025 allocations and learn how this funding supported communities across the CVRD.
The CVRD Arts & Culture Division provides Arts & Culture Grants supporting financial assistance to organizations that benefit the residents of the Cowichan Valley Regional District. The funding is decided by the CVRD Arts & Culture Adjudication Committee. More information is available on Arts & Culture Grants page.
Twice per year, the Sport Tourism Event Grant Sub-Committee considers grant funding for events that support a Vancouver Island, Provincial or National event that provides a positive economic impact in the Cowichan Region.
