Community Funding

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) helps fund initiatives and projects that foster community engagement and collaboration, empowering individuals and organizations to drive positive change in the region.

Electoral Area Funding

Every year the CVRD administers grants-in-aid for local projects in the CVRD Electoral Areas, ranging from special community projects to local infrastructure and support for arts and culture.

Arts & Culture

The CVRD Arts & Culture Division provides Arts & Culture Grants supporting financial assistance to organizations that benefit the residents of the Cowichan Valley Regional District. The funding is decided by the CVRD Arts & Culture Adjudication Committee. The 2025 grant stream is closed, check the Arts & Culture webpage for updates on applications for 2026.

Sports Tourism Grants

CVRD Sport Tourism considers grant funding for events that support a Vancouver Island, Provincial or National event that brings people into the Cowichan Region, and additional criteria including the provincial standards as outlined by the ‘Return to Sport’ guidelines. Local First Nations Peoples have stewarded the lands of this region since time immemorial. The CVRD is committed to the ongoing journey of reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the region by strengthening cooperation, collaboration, and relationship building.
