Black Garbage Tote

Electoral Areas can use their black garbage totes every two weeks according to their curbside collection schedule. Visit the Curbside Collection Overview page to see the guidelines for successful collection.

Accepted Materials

  • Compostable / Biodegradable Plastics
  • Pet Waste
  • Personal Hygiene Products
  • Glass & Ceramic Products
  • Hard Plastics
  • Broken, Irrepairable, Non-donatable Items

The following is not permitted*

  • Metal
  • Batteries
  • Appliances
  • Propane canisters
  • Electronics
  • Light bulbs

*Note

  • Some of these items are hazardous and may cause fires if improperly disposed.
  • Take them to a Recycling Centre free drop-off.
Recyclables and organics (food and yard waste) are prohibited in garbage totes.
