CVRD recognized in Call2Recycle’s 2025 Leaders in Sustainability Awards

We’re proud to share that the Cowichan Valley Regional District has been chosen as one of the recipients of the 2025 Leaders in Sustainability Awards by Call2Recycle Canada, the nation’s leading battery collection and recycling organization. The Leaders in Sustainability Awards honour organizations that demonstrate outstanding environmental leadership through the responsible management of end-of-life batteries and measurable contributions to Canada’s circular economy.

Call2Recycle is Canada’s leading organization for the collection and recycling of batteries and battery-powered products. As a trusted steward for more than 400 members including producers of single-use and rechargeable batteries, the organization manages several leading programs, including Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! for household and e-bike batteries, Recycle Your Vapes for battery-powered vapes and e-cigarettes in Québec, and the industry-led EV Battery Recovery Program for electric vehicle batteries nationwide.
