Shawnigan Beach Estates Sewer System

Shawnigan Beach Estates Sewer System in located in Area B and services 371 residential properties within the Shawnigan Beach Estates subdivision and an elementary school.  

System Overview

The sewer system consists of a gravity collection system and six pump stations. Sewage is pumped to an aerated dual-lagoon treatment system where it is filtered and pumped to ground disposal system located next to the Ingot Road subdivision.

Critical equipment is monitored 24-hours a day for malfunctions (such as pump failures); if such an abnormality occurs an alarm is sent to the on-duty pager to alert CVRD-staff for immediate response.
