Mill Springs Sewer System

Mill Springs Sewer System is located south of Mill Bay in Area A. The system currently services 239 properties but has extra capacity in the treatment plant to accommodate 400 residential properties.

System Overview

The system consists of a gravity collection system flowing to a membrane bioreactor treatment plant. The treated effluent is pumped to ground for disposal.

Critical equipment is monitored 24-hours a day for malfunctions, such as pump failures; if such an abnormality occurs an alarm is sent to the on-duty pager to alert CVRD staff for immediate response.

This system currently has capacity for suites, and limited capacity for inclusions and single-family dwelling connections. Further development would require developer-funded system upgrades to create additional capacity.
