Lambourn Estates Sewer System

Lambourn Estates Sewer System is located southeast of Cowichan Bay in Area D and services approximately 145 residential properties and a 51-site modular home park.  

System Overview

The system consists of a gravity collection system, with a small number of homes on a septic tank effluent pump (STEP) system. Treatment of the sewage is through a Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) treatment plant producing high quality, Class A, effluent with ocean outfall for disposal.

Critical equipment is monitored 24-hours a day for malfunctions (such as pump failures); if such an abnormality occurs an alarm is sent to the on-duty pager to alert CVRD staff for immediate response.

This system does not currently have capacity for any additional connections or inclusions. Further development would require developer-funded system upgrades to create additional capacity.
