Home Parks, Recreation & Culture Parks & Trails Find a Park Price Park
This beautiful nature park, located in Youbou, offers a network of forested trails meandering from Youbou Road to Cowichan Lake complete with picnic areas.
Price Park address is 9872 Swordfern Way, Youbou. West off the Trans-Canada Highway onto Cowichan Valley Highway (Highway 18), right onto Youbou Road, left onto Miracle Way. There are also entrances from Youbou Road and Swordfern Way.
The Price family arrived on Vancouver Island circa 1912. The park is named for the Price family; brothers Doug, Don, Hugh, Eric, Basil; sisters Enid, Rita, Dorothy; and parents Emma and Alexander John (AJ) who built a house on Price Road in 1932/33. The town-site at that time only extended from the Community Hall and Yount Elementary School west to the mill site.
After returning from the war, Douglas and wife Betty bought the house from AJ while other members of the family continued to build houses and live on the property. To this day there are many descendants of the Price family living on Vancouver Island, across BC and into Alberta.
