A Moment of Remembrance for Former CVRD Director and Chair, Mary Marcotte

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Mary Marcotte, who served as CVRD Director of Electoral Area H (North Oyster / Diamond) for over 20 years, and was also a former Chair of the CVRD Board.

Mary Marcotte was well known for her advocacy in maintaining a rural lifestyle for her community, supporting local agriculture and Cowichan watershed and river issues. She also advocated for a new North Oyster Fire Hall (completed 2019).

Our thoughts and condolences are with her family, friends and all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of service, kindness, and commitment to community has left a lasting difference.

Flags at all CVRD facilities are lowered to half-mast as we take a moment to reflect, honour, and remember Mary’s compassion and dedication to her work and community.
