Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan

CVRD Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan Advisory Group 

The expression of interest period for the CVRD Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan Advisory Group is closed, as of end-of-day November 17th, 2023.  The CVRD Board will be appointing Advisory Group members in the new year. Applicants will be contacted at that time. 

The purpose of this Advisory Group is to advise the CVRD Board, staff and consultants throughout the planning process to update the CVRD Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan, beginning early 2024. 

Applicants should be current residents and/or landowners within the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Members will be selected by the CVRD Board to contribute a diversity of interests and knowledge applicable to regional parks and trails, including:

  • ecological and biodiversity conservation; 
  • outdoor recreation;
  • Indigenous interests; 
  • heritage conservation; 
  • accessibility and inclusivity;
  • climate change mitigation and adaptation; and
  • parks planning.

The CVRD Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan Advisory Group will serve for the duration of the process to complete the update of the CVRD Regional Parks and Trails Master Plan, estimated to be 13-15 months. Participation will involve attending meetings and public engagement events.
