The CVRD welcomes nominations from community members for significant heritage buildings, structures, landscape features, sites and other heritage resources in the region’s electoral areas. Nominations will be considered by the CVRD Board for inclusion on the Community Heritage Register on the basis of their heritage value. Heritage resources may have heritage value because they:
- Illustrate achievement in concept and design, technology and/or planning, or a significant stage in the development of a community, region, province, territory or the nation;
- Are associated with events that have historical importance;
- Are associated with the lives of persons of historical importance;
- Illustrate or symbolize in whole or in part a cultural tradition, way of life or ideas that are important in the development of a community, region, province, territory or the nation.
