Arbutus Park is one of the few swimming beaches that provide lifeguards during the summer months. Come swim in the beautiful clear water of Cowichan Lake and enjoy a picnic on the beach. Washroom with change rooms are available.
Depending on what you would like to do, you may need to submit a Group Use Notification or a Field Trip Request. Please use the table below to determine what type of group you are hosting and what approval you may need.
Swimming Lessons | For information on Cowichan Lake Recreation's swimming lessons please visit www.cvrd.ca/3470/Swim-Lessons
Public Group Use | Groups of 10 people or more looking to use Arbutus Park and the lifeguards on-duty, must submit a Group Use Notification Form. While submitting a Group Use Notification does not grant you exclusive use of the park and lifeguards, knowing this information helps us to ensure park use remains within lifeguard capacity.
| We have lifeguard capacity to host summer camps and daycares on Fridays from July 2 and August 23, 2024. Please complete a Field Trip Request Form to reserve your space. Please contact CVRD Parks and trails for more information.
