  3. INFORMATION ABOUT OUT OF REGION ATTENDANCE
    NOTE: 'OUT OF REGION' pertains to anyone from anywhere outside of the Cowichan Valley Regional District.
  4. Participants include competitors, staff, judges, coaches, trainers, etc.
  5. The next four questions (#3 - #6) refer only to those PARTICIPANTS THAT STAYED OVERNIGHT, not all participants. Answers to these four questions MUST add up to 100%.

  8. for example: if 50% of 200 participants stayed overnight, there would be 100 staying overnight. If 50% of those stayed in paid accommodations, there would be 50 staying in paid accommodations.

  12. FINANCIAL INFORMATION
  13. In order to understand the economic impact of your event, we ask that you provide some information about the expenses and capital expenditures necessary to operate the event. Please estimate the amount spent on the following:
  14. ex: wages of staff paid to host the event
  15. ex: print, radio, TV, online ads
  16. ex: consultants, planners, event organizers etc.
  17. ex: banking and credit card fees
  18. ex: venue or liability insurance
  19. ex: office space, venue and equipment rental, fencing, vehicles etc,
  20. ex: sanitation, security etc
  21. ex: website costs, telecommunications, broadcasting fees etc.
  22. ex: energy and other
  23. ex: medals, trophies, decorations etc.
  24. ex: painting or maintenance
  25. ex: clothes and other merchandise purchased for resale or for volunteers.
  26. ex: charter busses, warehousing, courier
  27. Rather than asking for a list of revenues (grants, sponsorships, registration fees or other sources of funds) generated by the event, providing the difference between revenues and expenses assists in understanding the overall economic activity of the event.

  28. CAPITAL INVESTMENTS
    Include those expenditures lasting more than one year and undertaken as a result of hosting the event.
  29. Goods and services such as landscaping, feasibility studies etc.
  30. MARKETING AND PROMOTION INFORMATION
  31. Please include both pre-event marketing and recognition during the event.
