[ARCHIVED] **Open Fire Prohibition until Oct. 28, 2022, per BC Wildfire Service Regulations**

Provincial Open Burning Regulations

With the unseasonably high temperatures and record low rainfall this Fall, BC Wildfire Service has kept the Category 2 and Category 3 open burning bans in place for the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction until October 28, 2022, or until the order is rescinded.

For more information, see: https://blog.gov.bc.ca/bcwildfire/open-fire-prohibition-scheduled-for-coastal-fire-centre/

The CVRD Smoke Control Regulation Bylaw that permits open burning from October 15 – November 15 for Electoral Areas A, B, C, D, E and G is cancelled until provincial fire regulations are lifted.

The CVRD will notify residents of any changes to provincial open burning regulations and provide information about burning rules and restrictions when local regulations come into effect.

Have excess yard waste? Avoid burning by taking your residential yard waste to a CVRD Recycling Centre FREE of charge!
