Background
The Cowichan Valley Regional District invites applications for two volunteer members of the new Cowichan South Recreation Commission.
The Commission’s purpose is to oversee delivery of recreation services at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre and the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre.
One volunteer will be appointed to represent Electoral Area A (Mill Bay/Malahat), and one will be appointed to represent Electoral Area B (Shawnigan Lake).
Volunteer members will serve alongside five elected officials from Electoral Areas A, B, C, D and the Municipality of North Cowichan for a total of seven Commission members.
The Commission will meet about six times a year and members will serve a term of up to four years. As this is a volunteer position, there is no remuneration for participation.

Volunteer appointments will be made by the CVRD Board in early October 2023 and applicants can expect to hear back by mid-October.
