The Mesachie Lake Water System is on a boil water notice effective immediately after a recent bacteriological examination revealed potential contaminants that may pose a health hazard.
Residents should bring all water used for domestic purposes (e.g. drinking, cooking, teeth brushing, etc.) to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute.
This "Boil Water Notice" will remain in effect until the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) determines the water is acceptable for domestic use.
The CVRD is taking immediate action to address this problem. Your patience is appreciated and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Additional information may be available on the Island Health Authority official website.
