Residents of Shellwood Water System may have noticed water hauling trucks going up to the water reservoir over the past couple weeks. Water hauling has been required to supplement the well supply to maintain adequate storage for fire protection. Due to the long period with no rain and the hot temperatures experienced throughout the summer months, lower groundwater levels have meant the well is not able to produce enough water to keep the reservoir filled for fire protection. Water hauling will continue until the well is able to provide adequate supply to keep the reservoir filled. We would like to thank all efforts made by residents to conserve water over the dry summer. Please join us in welcoming the fall rain!
