[ARCHIVED] Christmas Tree Recycling

Dispose of your Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly manner, and your donation will help support local programs and services. Local tree chipping fundraisers are happening throughout the Cowichan region the first weekend of January.

  • Shawnigan Lake: “Chip in for the Kids” at Mason’s Store, 1885 Renfrew Rd, on January 5th and 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Duncan: “Chip in for the Kids” at the BC Forest Discovery Centre, 2892 Drinkwater Rd, on January 5th and 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Duncan: Cowichan Secondary chipping fundraiser at Cowichan Secondary School, 2652 James St on January 5th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Ladysmith: Ladysmith Fire Rescue chipping fundraiser at the Ladysmith Firehall, 330 6 Ave, on January 5th and 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Christmas trees can also be dropped off for FREE as yard and garden waste at CVRD Recycling Centres and Fisher Road Recycling.

Artificial Christmas trees are not recyclable. Please donate unwanted artificial trees to local re-use and thrift stores.
