Outdoor Fitness

During the pause on indoor low intensity fitness classes, we are offering the program described below in an outdoor setting. The program will be held at the outdoor Pavilion at the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre. Registration is on a per class basis and can be completed via our online portal or by phoning 250.743.1433. Registration opens one month at a time. Prior to attending your program, please review the safety plan and applicable program guidelines on our COVID-19 & Recreation page

Things to note about outdoor fitness programming:

  • Participants should be comfortable walking to pavilion on a slightly uneven surface.
  • Weather conditions may change quickly and we'll do our best to adjust.
  • Participants should consider dressing in layers in preparation for spring conditions.
  • The benefits of outdoor experiences are well documented, so come out and give it a try!

Program Descriptions

Outdoor Sweat, Stretch and Strength Fitness
These motivating fitness classes will not only increase your stamina and flexibility, but may even leave you with a smile on your face! Class incorporates aerobic movements, balance and strength training, resistance equipment and fun. Class finishes off with relaxing breathing and stretching.
