Twin Cedars sewer system is located east of Cobble Hill Village in Area C. The system provides sewer service to 75 residential properties, a public washroom, a school, and select commercial enterprises.
System Overview and Proposed Upgrades
The system consists of a gravity collection system and a membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment plant producing high quality, Class A effluent. The effluent is disinfected and used for toilet flushing at the Quarry Nature Park washroom and for irrigation use at the park. The reclaimed water is treated with chlorine prior to use and complies with all Ministry of Environment requirements.
Critical equipment is monitored 24-hours a day for malfunctions (such as pump failures); if such an abnormality occurs an alarm is send to the on-duty pager to alert CVRD-staff for immediate response.
The CVRD was recently successful in obtaining grant funding for the Integration of Cobble Hill Sewer System. Click here to learn more about this exciting project.
An information meeting about the project was held on April 25, click here for the Powerpoint presentation.
